Electric Choke

  1. If choke is not opening properly, check for battery voltage at choke heater connection, with engine running. If voltage is 12-15 volts, replace electrical choke unit.
  2. If voltage is less than 12 volts, check for poor connections in choke wiring. To check connection at oil pressure switch, turn ignition on, but do not start engine. If oil pressure light is not on, connection at oil pressure switch is poor or oil pressure switch is defective.
