Engine Compression

CAUTION: DO NOT add oil to cylinders during compression check as extensive engine damage will result.
  1. Start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Remove sensing resistor, glow plug connector, glow plugs and fuel cut solenoid.
  2. Disconnect fusible link wire from Quick Start Silent Idling (QSSI) controller at the connector. Install Adapter (J-26999 20) and compression gauge into glow plug hole. Crank engine and note compression reading. Repeat for each cylinder.
