EXCESSIVE NOx EMISSION

  1. Check for leaking vacuum lines. Vacuum leakage also causes excessive brake pedal pressure and fast idle malfunction. If vacuum lines are okay, check control lever position sensor and harness for loose or broken connectors.
  2. Test vacuum switching valve and EGR valve with engine warmed above 131°F (55°C), and engine speed set above 1200 RPM.
