Removal & Installation - A/T: Spectrum: Removal
- Disconnect negative cable at battery. Remove air intake hose from air cleaner. Disconnect shift cable from transaxle. Disconnect speedometer cable. Disconnect vacuum hose at vacuum diaphragm.
- Disconnect engine wiring harness clamp at transaxle. Disconnect ground cable at transaxle. Disconnect inhibitor switch wire connector at left fender. Disconnect kickdown solenoid wire connector at transaxle.
- Disconnect transaxle cooler lines. Remove 3 upper transaxle-to-engine attaching bolts. Raise vehicle. Remove both front wheel and tire assemblies. Remove splash shield at left front fender.
- Disconnect both tie rod ends at steering knuckle. Remove both front tension rod brackets. Disconnect both tension rods from control arms. Disengage both drive axle shafts from transaxle. Remove flywheel dust cover.
- Remove converter to flywheel attaching bolts. Remove rear mount thru bolts at transaxle. Disconnect starter motor. Support transaxle. Remove lower transaxle to engine attaching bolts. Remove transaxle from vehicle.
