Heater System: Description
The heater system delivers warm air to the passenger compartment when the engine has warmed up. Outside air, alone or combined with inside air, is passed through the core of the heater unit and then into the passenger compartment. By blending the warm heated air with the cool outside air, the most comfortable temperature can be selected and maintained.
The amount of heat delivered to the passenger compartment is regulated by the temperature control lever. This lever acts to open and close the air mix door, thus controlling the amount of air passed through the heater core.
The air selector lever, with its different modes, allows the selection and maintenance of the most comfortable passenger compartment temperature.
The vehicle is equipped with a full time outside air system. This means that a small, constant supply of outside fresh air is delivered to the passenger compartment when the selector lever is shifted to the circulating position and the vehicle is in motion.
