A single plate, dry friction disc with a diaphragm spring-type clutch is used on all models. The assembly consists of a clutch driven plate, pressure plate assembly and clutch release mechanism.
The clutch driven plate has a spring dampened hub to reduce transferance of torsional vibrations from engine to transmission. Grooves in clutch driven plate lining eliminate vacuum created between members upon disengagement.
The clutch release mechanism consists of a clutch master cylinder (mounted on front of dash), a slave cylinder (mounted on transaxle support bracket), and a hydraulic line between the cylinders. See Fig 1 .
