Trouble Shooting: Surge
- Check air cleaner damper door (THERMAC) operation. Check operation of EGR system. If tool is available, ensure reading of vehicle speed sensor matches speedometer. Inspect in-line fuel filter and fuel pressure.
- Inspect O2 sensor for silicon contamination from fuel or use of improper RTV sealant. Sensor may have a white powdery coating which results in a false rich-mixture signal to ECM. ECM will in turn reduce fuel delivered to the engine.
