Automatic Temperature Control: Testing: Procedure

A quick check procedure is provided on a swing-out plastic instruction card attached to the back of the tester. Before performing this quick check, warm engine to operating temperature, then set dash control lever to the MED. position and Temperature Dial to "3". Use QUICK TEST PROCEDURE Chart to perform test:

NOTE: If water entry has occurred in the vacuum harness, system malfunction will be encountered when the vehicle is operated in ambient temperatures below freezing. Some blower operation will be encountered; however, improper outlet air temperature and/or mode will result. The system, when checked in a warm building, will operate properly after the ice has melted.
