Engine Number

"Engine Production Code Number" stamped on top of engine block just forward of alternator-oil filter adapter and behind oil pressure sending unit. Number (example below) includes identification data as indicated.

(1) Engine Assembly Plant.
(2) Month of Manufacture.
(3) Day of Manufacture.
(4) Code letters for engine horsepower rating, transmission type, and other equipment.
