Circuit/System Testing
NOTE:
- Refer to SIR Service Precautions .
- Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
- Ignition/Vehicle OFF. Disconnect the harness connector at the B60RMB Rear Seat Belt Reminder Occupant Presence Sensor - Middle, wait 120 seconds.
- Test for less than 30 Ω between the low reference circuit and ground with seat belt unbuckled.
- If 30 Ω or greater
- Ignition/Vehicle OFF.
- Verify the SIR system is disabled.
- Disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K36 Restraints Control Module.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the low reference circuit end to end with seat belt unbuckled.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit. See Component Testing to test B153RM Rear Seat Belt Buckle - Middle.
- If less than 2 Ω, replace the K36 Restraints Control Module.
- Go to next step: If less than 30 Ω
- Ignition/Vehicle ON.
- Test for 4.75 - 5.25 V between the signal circuit and ground.
- If less than 4.75 V
- Verify the SIR system is disabled.
- Disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K36 Restraints Control Module.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit and ground.
- If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
- Test for less than 2 Ω in the signal circuit end to end.
- If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 Ω, replace the K36 Restraints Control Module.
- If greater than 5.25 V
- Ignition/Vehicle OFF.
- Verify the SIR system is disabled.
- Disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K36 Restraints Control Module. Ignition/Vehicle ON.
- Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit and ground.
- If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
- If less than 1 V, replace the K36 Restraints Control Module.
- Go to next step: If between 4.75 - 5.25 V
- Replace the B60RMB Rear Seat Belt Reminder Occupant Presence Sensor - Middle.
- Go to next step: If DTC B1920 is not set
- All OK.
