Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the power transfer unit heat shield. Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield Replacement

    NOTE:
    • When performing the following procedure, use only hand tools to remove and install the power transfer unit drain and power transfer unit fill plugs.
    • Ensure that an approved drain pan is used when draining the power transfer unit.

    Remove and DISCARD the power transfer unit drain plug (2) and seal.

  3. Remove and DISCARD the power transfer unit fill plug (1) and seal.
  4. Allow the power transfer unit to drain completely.
