Front Axle Lubricant Level Inspection: Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Make sure the vehicle is level.
Underbody Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Underbody Skid Shield Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
Underbody Skid Shield (1) - Remove
Front Differential Carrier Oil Filler Plug (1) - Remove
- Inspect the axle lubricant level, it should be 0 - 6 mm (0 - 0.24 in) below the plug opening.
- If the level is low, add axle lubricant until the level is 0 - 6 mm (0 - 0.24 in) below the plug opening. Use the appropriate axle lubricant: Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Front Differential Carrier Oil Filler Plug (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
Underbody Skid Shield (1) - Install
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution
Underbody Skid Shield Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Underbody Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Lower the vehicle.
