Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
  2. Disconnect malfunctioning trailer camera from X88 Trailer Connector and connect it to other trailer camera channel receptacle of X88 Trailer Connector.
    • If malfunction now exists on other trailer camera channel 

      Replace the appropriate malfunctioning trailer camera.

    • Go to next step: If trailer camera image displays properly on other trailer camera channel 
  3. Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
  4. Disconnect the appropriate electrical connector: @ K157 Video Processing Control Module
  5. Wait for greater than 5 s.
  6. Connect appropriate EL-52552pinout tool to K157 Video Processing Control Module
  7. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  8. Test for 7 to 11 V between the test points:Signal circuit terminal @ K157 Video Processing Control Module (component side) & Ground
    • If not between 7 and 11 V 

      Replace the component:K157 Video Processing Control Module

    • Go to next step: If between 7 and 11 V 
  9. Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
  10. Disconnect the electrical connector:X88 Trailer Connector
  11. Connect appropriate EL-52552pinout tool to Coax Cable
    12. NOTE:

    Before testing the coax cable, check the cable's exterior for being pinched, cut, damaged, or having loose connections at the components, all of which can cause reception issues.

  12. Test for less than 5 ohms between the test points:Coax Cable Center & The other end of the circuit
    • If 5 ohms or greater 

      Replace the component:Coax Cable

    • Go to next step: If less than 5 ohms 
  13. Test for greater than 5 ohms between the test points:Coax Cable Outer Shield & The other end of the circuit
    • If 5 ohms or greater 

      Replace the component:Coax Cable

    • Go to next step: If less than 5 ohms 
  14. Test for infinite resistance between the test points:Coax Cable Outer Shield & Coax Cable Center
    • If less than infinite resistance 

      Replace the component:Coax Cable

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance 
  15. Replace the component:X88 Trailer Connector
  16. Apply the parking brake.
  17. Engine RunningTransmission in Reverse
  18. Verify the repair corrected the DTC/symptom.
    • If the repair did not correct the DTC/symptom 

      Replace the component:K157 Video Processing Control Module

    • Go to next step: If the repair corrected the DTC/symptom 
  19. All OK.
