Installation Procedure

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install the drain plug (1).

Tighten

Tighten the drain plug to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

Remove the fill plug (1)
Fill the differential carrier assembly with axle lubricant. Use the correct fluid. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities , and Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
Install the fill plug (1).
Tighten

Tighten the fill plug to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).
Install the steering gear skid shield, if equipped. Refer to Steering Gear Skid Shield Replacement .
Lower the vehicle.
