Removal Procedure

    Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

  2. Remove the front compartment front sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement .
  3. Remove the positive battery cable protective cap at the generator terminal.
  4. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (1) from the generator.
  5. Remove the positive battery cable fastener (2) at the generator.
  6. Remove the positive battery cable terminal (3) from the generator.
  7. Remove the drive belt from the generator and idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

    Remove the idler pulley fastener (1) and idler pulley (2).

  9. Remove the generator fasteners (3) and the generator mounting stud (4).
  10. Remove the generator (5).
