Component Testing
M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch-Dynamic Test
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector:M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch
- Connect a jumper wire between the test points:Ground terminal 2 & Ground
- Momentarily connect a 10 A fused jumper wire between the test points:Control terminal 1 & 12 V
Verify the component turns On and Off when connecting and disconnecting the jumper wire:M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch
- If the component does not turn On and Off
Replace the component:M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch
- Go to next step: If the component turns On and Off
- If the component does not turn On and Off
- All OK.
S58B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Interior
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector:S58B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Interior
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points:Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - Not Pressed
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component:S58B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Interior
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- If less than infinite resistance
- Test for less than 3 ohms between the test points:Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - Pressed
- If 3 ohms or greater
Replace the component:S58B Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Interior
- Go to next step: If less than 3 ohms
- If 3 ohms or greater
- All OK.
S58A Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Exterior
- Ignition/Vehicle - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector:S58A Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Exterior
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points:Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - Not Pressed
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component:S58A Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Exterior
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- If less than infinite resistance
- Test for less than 3 ohms between the test points:Signal terminal 1 & Ground terminal 2 - Pressed
- If 3 ohms or greater
Replace the component:S58A Rear Compartment Lid Unlatch Switch - Exterior
- Go to next step: If less than 3 ohms
- If 3 ohms or greater
- All OK.
