Removal Procedure

NOTE:

Before replacing any air suspension components, the air suspension air leak diagnostic MUST be followed to pinpoint faulty components.

Air Suspension Air Leak Diagnosis

  1. Raise the hoist until it just contacts the vehicle body, without raising the vehicle. With all four tires on the ground, maintain the vehicle as close as possible to it's normal height. If the tires are lifted off the ground, the depressurizing command will not function. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. WARNING:

Do NOT remove an air compressor tube in an attempt to depressurize the air suspension. Always follow the Air Suspension Depressurization Procedure in Air Suspension. Failure to follow this procedure may cause personal injury or damage to the air compressor and/or air spring tube fittings.

  3. Depressurize the air suspension system. Air Suspension System Depressurization and Pressurization
  4. Raise the vehicle to suitable working height.
  5. CAUTION:

Ensure that you depress both plastic tabs that hold the air compressor filter into the frame rail while removing; failure to do so will result in damage to the air compressor filter.

  6. Depress both plastic tabs securing the air compressor filter into the frame rail during removal.

    NOTE:

After depressurizing the air springs and compressor there will still be some residual pressure present. DO NOT quickly disconnect air tube fittings.

Slowly loosen the air tube fittings (1) from the compressor assembly until all the residual air is out of the system.

  9. Disconnect the air suspension compressor air fittings.

  13. Remove the two nuts attaching the front and rear sections of exhaust at the flange, before the resonator. Exhaust Muffler Replacement (FWD)Exhaust Muffler Replacement (AWD)
  14. Lower the exhaust enough to access the rear air spring compressor nuts.
