Removal Procedure
Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .
Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution .
Do not lift or carry the electric brake booster by the input rod, electrical connectors or master cylinder reservoir. Failure to follow these steps may damage the electric brake booster.
If there is no brake fluid in the master cylinder, remove one of the brake booster fuses before applying the brake pedal. Failure to do so may damage the electric brake booster.
- Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
- Remove one of the electronic brake booster control module fuses from the engine compartment fuse block.
- Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator - Left Side - Remove - Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator Replacement - Left Side
- NOTE:
Pull the brake pedal rearward to disconnect the retainer.
Brake Pedal Retainer (1) @ Brake Pedal (2) - Release
- Brake Pedal Retainer - Remove and DISCARD
Brake Master Cylinder (1) - Remove - Brake Master Cylinder Replacement (With HP9)
- Disconnect the electronic brake booster control module electrical connectors.
- NOTE:
Support the electronic brake booster control module while fully loosening the bolts.
Electronic Brake Booster Control Module Bolt (1) - Loosen [2x]
Electronic Brake Booster Control Module (1) - Remove
