Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Connect the battery positive cable terminal (1) to the starter solenoid stud and tighten the fastener (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  2. Connect the battery positive cable connector (3) to the starter solenoid.
  3. Position the starter (4) into position on the bell housing.

  5. Install the starter mounting fasteners (1) and tighten to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).

  7. Install the battery positive cable conduit bracket (3) to the starter solenoid (2) and tighten the fastener (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  9. Install the starter heat shield into position on the starter (1) with the retaining clip (2).

  11. Install the starter heat shield fastener (1) and tighten to 4.7 N.m (42 lb in).
  12. Install the three-way catalytic converter. Refer to Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Front LF3)Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement (Rear LF3) .
  13. Install the turbocharger heat shield. Refer to Turbocharger Heat Shield Replacement (Front)Turbocharger Heat Shield Replacement (Rear) .
  14. Install the turbocharger wastegate actuator vacuum tank. Refer to Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Tank Replacement (LF3) .
  15. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LF3) .
  16. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
