Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection 
  2. Remove the intake manifold cover. Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LF3)
  3. Remove the front compartment front sight shield. Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement
  4. Remove the right front compartment air deflector. Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (Right)Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (Left)
  5. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement (LF3)
  6. Reposition the power steering fluid reservoir. Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement (LF3)
  7. NOTE:

    Take care not to get coolant on the drive belt.

  8. Remove the radiator inlet hose. Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LF3)
  9. Install the engine support fixture. Engine Support Fixture (LF3)
  10. Remove the right side engine mount. Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side (LF3)
  11. Remove the right engine mount bracket. Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Right Side

  13. Add a second engine support hook and D-ring to center hole of the engine mount bracket and attach it to the engine support fixture.
  14. Remove the engine support D-ring on the generator.
  15. Remove the drive belt. Drive Belt Replacement

  17. Remove the protective cap (4) from the B + stud (1) at the front of the generator.
  18. Remove the fastener (3) and the battery positive cable terminal (2), from the generator.

  20. Disconnect the engine harness connector (1) and detach the engine harness retainer (2), from the generator.

  22. Remove the generator mounting fastener (1) and the idler pulley (2).
  23. Remove the generator mounting fastener (5) and the mounting stud (4).
  24. Remove the generator mounting fastener (3) and remove the generator (6) from the engine compartment.
