Knuckle Replacement

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (V-Series) and Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Base)
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (October 4th 2015 and Earlier) and Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (October 5th 2015 and Later)
  3. Using a suitable hydraulic jack, support the lower control arm.
  4. Remove the rear wheel speed sensor. Refer to Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement
  5. Remove the rear brake backing plate. Refer to Rear Parking Brake Anchor Backing Plate Replacement
  6. Disconnect the upper control arm from the knuckle. Refer to Upper Control Arm Replacement 
  7. Disconnect the adjust link from the knuckle. Refer to Adjust Link Replacement 
  8. Disconnect the lower stabilizer link bolt from the knuckle. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement 
  9. Disconnect the upper and lower trailing arms form the knuckle. Refer to Trailing Arm Replacement (Upper)  and Trailing Arm Replacement (Lower) 
    CAUTION: Pry bar tools may cause damage to the ball joint seals when removing links from the knuckle. Damage to the seals may cause knuckle and control arm failure. The knuckle will need to be replaced if there is damage to the seals.
  10. Disconnect the lower control arm from the knuckle. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement (with F55)  and Lower Control Arm Replacement (without F55)

Procedure 
Align the rear end. Refer to Rear Camber Adjustment and Rear Toe Adjustment
