Removal Procedure

  1. Reposition the left side rear compartment trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Replacement - Left Side .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (without KL9) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (with KL9) .

  4. Open the battery fuse block cover (1) and loosen the battery post cable clamp fastener (2) from the battery fuse block.

  6. Unclip the battery fuse block retainer clips (2) and set aside the battery fuse block (1).

  8. Remove the battery hold down bracket fastener (1) and remove the battery hold down bracket (2).
  9. Remove the battery vent hose (3) from the side of the battery.

  11. Push forward the battery tray front bracket (3) and remove the battery (1) using the battery assist handles (2).
