Auxiliary Inputs

The rear seat entertainment system has an auxiliary input assembly that contains two USB ports, an HDMI port and a wired headphone jack with volume control. Refer to the Owners Manual for information on compatible devices and supported media types/formats.

Audio/Video Input Adapter

The Audio/Video Input Adapter contains a HDMI port, USB ports and a wired headphone jack. In older vehicles it also contained a SD card slot.

The assembly receives fused battery voltage and ground from the harness to power the internal hub device as well as providing additional amperage to power USB devices and MHL. It connects to the Media Disk Player through the vehicle harness, a USB cable and a LVDS cable.

HDMI port

An HDMI cable is required to connect an HDMI device to the rear seat entertainment system. HDMI streams are sent from the Audio/Video Input Adapter to the Media Disc Player via a LVDS cable.

Once a device is connected to the HDMI port, the device may be sourced to one or both of the rear displays using the remote control.

USB ports

The USB ports are connect to a USB hub, which is internal to the Audio/Video Input Adapter.

The internal hub device interfaces directly with the Media Disc Player via a standard USB cable with mini type USB connectors. In-line cable connections are typically found between the console and I/P harness.

The USB port allows connectivity to the Rear Seat Infotainment system from portable media players and/or a USB storage device (memory stick/ flash drive).

Once a supported device is connected to a USB port, the device may be sourced to one or both of the rear displays using the remote control.

Wired Headphone Jack

The wired headphone jack is used to connect an additional set of headphones to the system. Audio for the wired headphone jack can be from either the left or the right display source and is selected using the remote control.

A rotary control near the headphone jack is used to adjust the volume.
