Installation Procedure

  1. With the aid of an assistant position the instrument panel upper trim panel (1) into the vehicle.
  2. Connect the instrument panel harness to the upper trim panel.
  3. When replacing the instrument panel upper trim panel, transfer all necessary components.
  4. When replacing the instrument panel compartment, transfer all necessary components.
  5. Connect the electrical connections.

  6. Install the instrument panel compartment (1) to the instrument carrier.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  7. Install the bolts (1) securing the bottom of the instrument panel compartment to the instrument carrier.

  8. Return the instrument panel compartment door stops (1) to there original position.

  9. Connect the dampener (1) to the instrument panel compartment door.

  10. Install the bolts (1) securing the top of the instrument panel compartment to the instrument carrier.

  11. Install the nuts (1) securing the instrument panel lower airbag bracket (2) to the instrument panel upper trim panel (3).

  12. Install the bolts (1) securing the right side of the instrument panel upper trim panel.
  13. Install the bolt (2) securing the instrument panel lower airbag bracket to the instrument panel tie bar and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  14. Install the bolts (1) securing the left side of the instrument panel upper trim panel to the instrument carrier.
  15. Install the instrument panel lower trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  16. Install the right instrument panel insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side .
  17. Install the forward collision alert display. Refer to Forward Collision Alert Display Replacement .
  18. Install the radio front center speaker. Refer to Radio Front Center Speaker Replacement .
  19. Install the right and left radio speakers. Refer to Radio Speaker Replacement .
  20. Install the instrument panel center air outlet. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Replacement .
  21. Install the passenger side instrument panel molding. Refer to Instrument Panel Molding Replacement - Passenger Side .
  22. Install the driver side instrument panel molding. Refer to Instrument Panel Molding Replacement - Driver Side .
  23. Install the instrument panel side trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Side Trim Panel Replacement .
  24. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
