Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LF3) .
  3. Remove the drivetrain and front suspension frame. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Removal and Installation .
  4. Remove the turbocharger coolant return pipe - bank 1. Refer to Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Replacement (LF3 - Bank 2) and Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Replacement (LF3 - Bank 1) .
  5. Disconnect the engine harness connector (4) and remove the B + generator protective cap (1).

  6. Remove the fastener (2) and the engine harness battery positive terminal (3), from the back of the generator.
  7. Remove the generator mounting fasteners (1) and remove the generator (2) from the engine compartment.
