Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Brake Fluid Irritant Warning

CAUTION:

Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution

CAUTION:

Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM.

  1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
  2. Engine Wiring Harness Fuse Block Bracket»Remove — Engine Wiring Harness Fuse Block Bracket Replacement
  3. Thoroughly clean the electronic brake control module (EBCM) to brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) area of any accumulated dirt and debris.
  4. Disconnect the EBCM electrical connector.

  5. Disconnect Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Primary Pipe Fitting (1).
  6. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  7. Disconnect Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe Fitting (1)
  8. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  9. Disconnect Left Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1)
  10. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  11. Disconnect Right Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1)
  12. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  13. Disconnect Left Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1)
  14. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  15. Disconnect Right Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1)
  16. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

  18. Loosen Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Bolt (1)
