Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator (6) into position and loosely tighten the mounting fastener (3).
  2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the mounting stud (4) and tighten to 9 (80 lb in).
  4. Install the idler pulley (2) and tighten the mounting fastener (1) to 58 (43 lb ft).
  5. Install the mounting fastener (5) and tighten to 58 (43 lb ft).
  6. Tighten the mounting fastener (3) to 58 (43 lb ft).

  8. Attach the engine harness retainer (2) and connect the engine harness connector (1) to the generator.

  10. Install the battery positive cable terminal (2) to the B + stud (1) and tighten the fastener (3) to 15 (11 lb ft).
  11. Install the protective terminal cap (4).
  12. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  13. Install the air conditioning hose at the A/C evaporator hose joint. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LFX without V4U)Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LFX with V4U)Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LF3) .
  14. Install the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LFX)Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LF3) .
  15. Install the air cleaner outlet front duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct Replacement (LF3) .
  16. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LFX)Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LF3) .
  17. Install the front compartment front sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement .
  18. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
