Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (LF3) .
  3. Remove the front compartment front sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement .
  4. Remove the air cleaner outlet front duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Front Duct Replacement (LF3) .
  5. Remove the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LF3) .
  6. Remove the air conditioning hose at the A/C evaporator hose joint. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LF3) .
  7. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  8. Remove the protective cap (4) from the B + stud (1) at the front of the generator.
  9. Remove the fastener (3) and the battery positive cable terminal (2), from the generator.

  10. Disconnect the engine harness connector (1) and detach the engine harness retainer (2), from the generator.

  11. Remove the generator mounting fastener (1) and the idler pulley (2).
  12. Remove the generator mounting fastener (5) and the mounting stud (4).
  13. Remove the generator mounting fastener (3) and remove the generator (6) from the engine compartment.
