Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Install the retainers that hold the battery cable harness to the battery tray.
  2. Install the battery positive and negative cable bracket retainer (3) to the engine block and tighten the fastener (4) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  3. Install the battery negative cable ground terminal (2) to the engine block and tighten the fastener (1) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  4. Install the battery positive cable retainer (5) to the transmission mount and tighten the fastener (6) to 62 N.m (46 lb ft).
  5. Install the battery positive retainer fastener (7) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the positive battery cable terminal (6) to the starter solenoid and tighten the fastener (5) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  8. Install the starter heat shield (2) and tighten the fastener (1) to 4 N.m (35 lb in).
  9. Install the battery positive terminal (4) to the back of the generator and tighten the fastener (3) to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  11. Install the battery positive cable to the battery fuse block and tighten the fastener (2) to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  13. Install the battery negative ground terminal to the left front radiator support and tighten the fastener (2) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  14. Install the battery post negative terminal clamp (1) and tighten to 12 N.m (9 lb ft).
  15. Connect the current sensor to the engine harness.
  16. Attach the body harness ground terminal to the negative clamp post.

  18. Install the battery cover (2) to the battery tray with the retaining tabs (1).
  19. Install the (ECM) onto the top of the battery cover.
