Installation Procedure

- Apply sealant to the threads of the actuator (1) for the 8.25 inch axle (2) or (3) for the 9.25 inch axle (4). Use the correct sealant. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
- Install the actuator (1 or 3) and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connector to the actuator.
- Install the oil pan skid plate, if equipped. Refer to Oil Pan Skid Plate Replacement (1500 with RPO NZZ) , Oil Pan Skid Plate Replacement (2500/3500 with RPO NZZ) .
- Lower the vehicle.
