Windshield Outside Moisture Sensor Replacement

1 Rain Sensor Module Trim Cover
Procedure: 
Gently pry the trim cover outward in order to remove the cover from the rain sensor module.
2 Electrical Connector
Procedure: 
Disconnect the electrical connector.
3 Rain Sensor Module and Retainer Clips

Procedure

  1. Disengage the two metal retaining clips from the mounting bracket on the windshield.
  2. Remove the entire sensor from the windshield.
  3. Remove the old conductive gel residue from the windshield.
  4. Clean the area of the windshield that contacts the windshield moisture sensor lens with a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water by volume on a dampened lint-free cloth.
  5. Remove the plastic protective covering from the lens of the new sensor.
  6. Position and install the moisture sensor back onto the windshield bracket.
  7. Engage the two metal retaining clips to the mounting bracket on the windshield.
  8. Connect the electrical cover.
  9. Secure the rain sensor module trim cover.
