Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering pump and bracket to the vehicle.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
    IMPORTANT: Start all fasteners by hand before finalizing any torques.
    IMPORTANT: Torque the power steering pump bolts in the order indicated in the graphic.
  2. Install the power steering pump bracket bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  3. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting to the power steering pump.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fitting to 38 N.m (28 lb ft).

  4. Connect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
  5. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  6. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  7. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement .
  8. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
