TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN
| Affected Model(s): | 2010-2011 Cadillac SRX |
CONDITION
Some customers may comment on a clicking sound from the HVAC system. This noise may be heard when the climate control is in the AUTO mode.
CAUSE
This condition may be caused by a software anomaly within the electronic climate control module (ECC), which may create excessive noise from the HVAC actuators.
CORRECTION
Reprogram the HVAC control module with the latest software calibration.
A revised calibration has been developed to address this condition. Technicians are to reprogram the HVAC control module using the service programming system (SPS) with the latest software available on TIS2WEB. Refer to HVAC System Control Module Programming and Setup in SI.
When using a Tech 2® or a Multiple Diagnostic Interface (MDI) for reprogramming, ensure that it is updated with the latest software version.
During programming, the battery voltage must be maintained within the proper range of 12-15 Volts. Only use the approved Midtronics® PSC 550 Battery Maintainer (SPS Programming Support Tool EL-49642) or equivalent during programming.
