Installation Procedure

WARNING: Refer to Express Down Feature Warning .

  1. If replacing the window regulator with a new part, adjust the replacement assembly jack screws to match the old regulator settings.
  2. Compact the regulator assembly, and insert the entire unit with the motor forward, into the door.

  4. Position the motor studs through the door inner panel.
  5. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  6. Install the window regulator motor nuts and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Guide the regulator channel studs into, and through the holes in the door.
  9. Loosely install the nuts to the regulator channel studs.

  11. Connect the electrical connector (3) to the motor (1).

  13. Slide the connector lock (1) to the seated position.

  15. Install the window. Refer to Door Window Replacement .
  16. Adjust the window to align with the door opening. Refer to Door Window Major Height Adjustment  and Door Window Tip-In Adjustment .
  17. Connect the battery.
  18. Connect the door window switch, and run window regulator clamps up to meet glass.
  19. Tighten the window regulator clamps to secure the glass and tighten to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
  20. Tighten the nuts to the regulator channel studs in the following order and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in) :
    1. Upper forward
    2. Upper rearward
  21. Run window glass to the full down position.
  22. Tighten the nuts to the regulator channel studs in the following order and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in) :
    1. Lower forward
    2. Lower rearward

  24. Install the small mastic seals in the window clamp sight access holes.

  26. Connect the harness electrical connector to the speakers. Install the connector lock.

  28. Install the uppermost screws (4) mounting the speaker assembly to the door.
  29. Verify proper fit of speaker tab (2), noting the index notch in the door.
  30. Install the remaining door speaker screws and tighten to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

  32. Install the water deflector (1).

  34. Connect the door panel electrical connector.
  35. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  36. Inspect the window fit, adjust as necessary. Refer to Door Window Major Height Adjustment  or Door Window Tip-In Adjustment  or Door Window Minor Height Adjustment .
  37. Install the access plug into the bottom of the door.
  38. Verify the operation of the window(s), mirror(s), and door switch electrical functions.
  39. Reinitialize the windows. Refer to Power Window Reinitialization .
