Installation Procedure
- Install the lower control arm (4).
- Install the lower control arm bolts (3).
- Install the washers (2).
- Install the lower control arm retaining nuts (1) and tighten to 175 N.m (129 lb ft).
- Install the lower ball joint into the steering knuckle.
- Install the NEW lower ball joint retaining nut and tighten to 125 N.m (92 lb ft) or the nut without the captured nuts, tighten to 70 N.m (52 lb ft) plus an additional 90 degrees...
- Install the wheel drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (2500) or Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (1500) .
- Install the shock absorber. Refer to Shock Absorber Replacement (2500 Series) .
- Install the torsion bars. Refer to Torsion Bar and Support Assembly Replacement (Bushing Style) or Torsion Bar and Support Assembly Replacement (Link Style) .
- Remove the support for the knuckle and upper control arm.
- Install the stabilizer shaft link to the lower control arm. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (1500) or Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (2500) .
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
- Verify the front end alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement .

There are two styles of nuts. One style has a captured washer and the second style does not have a captured washer
