Removal Procedure
- Block the rear drive wheels.
- Release the electronic park brake cable tension, if equipped. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling (Electric Park Brake) .
- Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the rear tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Release the fuel and brake pipe bundle from the frame rail clips (1).
- Release the fuel and brake pipe bundle retainer (2) from the vehicle underbody.
- Remove the bolt (1) securing the fuel and brake pipe bundle from the vehicle underbody.
- Remove the nuts (1) from the rear brake hose assembly bracket.
Release the bracket from the studs.
- Lower the rear frame assembly approximately 152-254 mm (6-10 in). Refer to Rear Frame Replacement .
- Disconnect the park brake cable nut (1) from the electronic park brake module spindle by rotating the nut counter clockwise.
Position the park brake cable nut rearward.
- Remove the park brake cable fitting from the spindle.
- Disconnect the electronic park brake module electrical connector.
- Remove the electronic park brake module bracket bolts (1).
- Remove the electronic park brake module assembly (1).
- If necessary, remove the electronic park brake module bracket bolts (1) and the bracket (2).
NOTE:
Do not disconnect the fuel lines or brake pipe fittings.
NOTE:
Do not disconnect the brake pipe fittings or the brake hose fittings.
