Installation Procedure

  1. Install the brake pedal assembly to the vehicle.

  3. Install the steering column support bracket (1).

  5. Install the vacuum brake booster mounting plate (1) to the cowl and brake pedal assembly.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  7. Install the 3 brake pedal assembly to cowl mounting nuts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the 3 brake pedal assembly to I/P carrier mounting nuts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  10. Install the steering column support bracket to brake booster mounting plate mounting nut (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the 2 steering column support bracket to I/P carrier mounting nuts (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  13. Connect the electrical connector to the BAS (1).
  14. Reposition and secure the steering column assembly. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
  15. Reposition and secure the park brake pedal assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement (LHD) or Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement (RHD) .
  16. Install the vacuum brake booster. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement (LHD)  or Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement (RHD) .
  17. Recalibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement .
