Installation Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  1. Install the drain plug.

    Tighten:  Tighten the drain plug to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).

  2. Fill the differential carrier assembly with axle lubricant. Use the correct fluid. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities and Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
  3. Install the fill plug.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fill plug to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).

  4. Install the engine shield, if equipped. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
  5. Lower the vehicle.
