Installation Procedure

  1. Position the battery negative cable to the engine.

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  2. Install the bolt (1) securing the battery negative cable to the engine block.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery negative cable to engine block bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Connect the instrument panel harness connector (3) to the battery negative cable.
  4. Install the bolt (1) securing the battery negative cable to the side rail.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery negative cable to side rail bolt to 36 N.m (27 lb ft).

  5. Connect the cable retaining clip to the stud on the shock tower.
  6. Install the battery tray and battery. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement (LHD)  or Battery Tray Replacement (LS2)  or Battery Tray Replacement (RHD) .
  7. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
