Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the negative battery cable (2) from the battery (3). Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
- Disconnect the positive battery cable (1) from the battery.
- Open the stud cover on the fuse/relay center.
- Remove the positive battery cable nut (7) from the fuse/relay center stud (8).
- Remove the positive battery cable lead (6) from the fuse/relay center stud (8).

- Remove the battery cable clips.
- Remove the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Replacement
in Engine Mechanical.
- Disconnect the starter jumper wiring harness (2) from the engine harness connector (1).

- Remove the positive battery cable terminal nut and terminals (2) from the starter solenoid.
- Remove the front suspension crossmember. Refer to Crossmember Replacement - Front Suspension
in Frame and Underbody.

- Disconnect the battery positive/starter cable from the generator:
- Slide the boot (1) back along the cable.
- Remove the battery positive/starter cable nut (2).
- Remove the battery positive/starter cable terminal (3) from the stud (4).

- Remove the bolt (1) securing the cable and clip to the front of the engine.
- Remove the positive battery cable.
