Installation Procedure

  1. Install the battery heat shield. Refer to Battery Heat Shield Replacement .
    2. Fig 1: Locating Battery Retainer & Bolt

  2. Install the battery into the vehicle.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the battery retainer and bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery retainer bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Connect the battery positive cable to the battery.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery cable bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  5. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
