Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the ball stud to the tilt motor assembly.

    Tighten:  Tighten the ball stud to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  2. Install the tilt motor assembly.
  3. Install the retaining bolts to the tilt motor assembly.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  4. Install the retaining screws (2) to the lower steering column trim cover (1).

  5. Install the wire harness (2) to the shield (1) on the lower steering column.

  6. Install the wire harness tie straps (1, 2).
  7. Install the steering column control module. Refer to Steering Column Control Module Replacement .
  8. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
