Removal Procedure

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (LA3, LY9) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (LY7) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS6) in Engine Cooling.
  2. Fig 1: Identifying Air Intake Duct Hoses To Throttle Body

  3. Disconnect the air intake duct hoses from the throttle body.

  5. Disconnect the following from the throttle body:
    • The surge tank inlet hose
    • The throttle body heater hose
    • The fuel pressure regulator atmospheric vent tube

  7. Disconnect the throttle body electrical connector (2) from the throttle body (1).

  9. Remove the throttle body assembly mounting bolts.

  11. Remove the throttle body assembly from the following:
    • The intake plenum
    • The vacuum fittings

  13. Remove and discard the following:
    • The throttle body O-ring seals (1)
    • The vacuum fitting O-ring seals
