Installation Procedure

  1. Install the strut.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the upper strut mount retaining bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

  3. Raise the vehicle.

  4. Install the strut to steering knuckle mounting bolts and nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 147 N.m (108 lb ft).

  5. Install the brake line bracket and retaining bolt to the strut.
  6. Install the wheel speed sensor bracket and retaining bolt to the strut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  7. Connect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
  8. Connect the brake wear sensor electrical connector.

  9. Connect the MAGNERIDE™ electrical connector (if equipped).
  10. Connect the road sensing suspension strut electrical connector (if equipped).

  11. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION  in Tires and Wheels.
  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Align the front camber. Refer to FRONT CAMBER ADJUSTMENT  in Wheel Alignment.
