Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM  .
  2. Remove the radiator support brackets. Refer to RADIATOR SUPPORT BRACKET REPLACEMENT  .
  3. Remove the cooling fans. Refer to COOLING FAN REPLACEMENT - ELECTRIC  .
  4. Remove the 2 upper condenser mounting bolts.

  5. Raise the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
    NOTE: The transmission oil cooler lines use a quick connect fitting at the radiator. The quick connect fitting must be removed using a special tool. Removing the transmission oil cooler lines without the tool will result in damage to the radiator and the transmission oil cooler, and may damage the transmission due to mixing of the transmission oil and coolant.
  6. Using the J 44827  (2) disconnect the lower transaxle oil cooler line from the radiator.

  7. Using the J 38185  disconnect the lower radiator hose (1) from the radiator.

  8. Remove the lower condenser mounting bolts.

  9. Remove the radiator side seal push pins.
  10. Separate the side seals from the radiator.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Remove the radiator.
