Installation Procedure

  1. Push the shift lever downward to engage the lever into the linear shift assembly.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the shift lever retaining screw.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screw to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  3. Feed the traction control harness back through the column. Route the harness carefully as previously observed.
  4. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS REPLACEMENT (POWER TILT)  or STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS REPLACEMENT (MANUAL TILT)  .
  5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING SYSTEM in SIR.
