Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.

  4. Remove the stabilizer shaft link lower retaining nut.
  5. Disconnect the stabilizer link from the lower control arm.

  7. Remove the rear wheel drive shaft nut.

  9. Install J 42129  to the wheel bearing/hub. See Special Tools and Equipment .
  10. Using J 42129  disengage the wheel drive shaft from the rear wheel hub and bearing. See Special Tools and Equipment .

  12. Support the lower control arm using a jack.

  14. Remove the lower shock mounting bolt.

  16. Remove the lower control arm to knuckle mounting bolt.

  18. Remove the lower control arm to frame mounting bolt and nut (1).
  19. Separate the lower control arm from the knuckle.
  20. Lower the jack.
  21. Remove the rear coil spring and the lower control arm.
