Shift Interlock Solenoid: Installation
- Connect the automatic transmission shift lock actuator (1) to the shifter assembly. See Fig 4
. Install the shifter assembly. See Fig 3
.
- Install the shifter fasteners. Tighten the shifter fasteners to 79 INCH lbs. (9 N.m). Insert the shift cable onto the shifter control. Fig 2
. Connect the automatic transmission shift lock solenoid wire harness connector. Adjust the shift cable as follows:
- Place the shifter in the NEUTRAL position.
- Loosen the shifter adjuster nut, then tighten the adjuster nut to 18 ft. lbs. (25 N.m).
- Partially install the console trim plate. Connect the electrical connectors. Align the trim plate retaining clips to the console. Push downward in order to fasten the trim plate to the console.
- Install the shifter handle and the shifter handle retaining clip. Place the shifter into the PARK position. Remove the blocks from the wheels.
