Installation Procedure

  1. Install the retaining clips in order to attach the reservoir (2) to the pump.
  2. Install the power steering pump and reservoir (2) to the power steering bracket (1).
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Install the power steering pump to bracket bolts (4,5).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the power steering pump to bracket bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

  4. Install the power steering pulley (3) to the power steering pump.
  5. Position the power steering pump assembly to the vehicle.

  6. Install the power steering pump mounting bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolt to 47 N.m (35 lb ft).

  7. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the power steering pressure hose to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  8. Install the power steering cooler hose to the power steering pump.
  9. Install the drive belt. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS & DRIVE BELT ROUTING .
  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding the Power Steering System 
  11. Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
