DTC B2734: Coded Key Controller Memory Failure: Testing

  1. If theft deterrent diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If theft deterrent diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform THEFT DETERRENT DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under left side of instrument panel. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, select DISPLAY DTCs, if DTC B2734 displays as current, go to next step. If DTC B2734 does not display as current, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  3. Replace theft deterrent control module. See THEFT DETERRENT CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Program new module. See PROGRAMMING THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM COMPONENTS  under PROGRAMMING. After repairs are made, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool, clear DTCs and check system operation. Operate vehicle with in code enable criteria. See CODE ENABLE CRITERIA  . If DTC does not reset, testing is complete. If DTC resets, go to step  2 .
